“TOUCHING THE EARTH LIGHTLY” 「輕觸大地,和諧共生」
A. Within the realm of "Twin Cities, Three Circles" where Hong Kong and Shenzhen forge stronger socio-economic bonds, Hong Kong responded with "The Northern Metropolis," a development plan encompassing the "Three Circles" that stretches from Hung Shui Kui to Mirs Bay in the north. Among these spatial circles, there is none more fascinating than the “Innovation &Technology Zone”, covering San Tin Technopole (STT), including the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HKSITP) in the Loop, that embodies the contrasting dichotomies of
• Rural vs urban,
• Agriculture vs I&T,
• Conservation and Regeneration
• HK-SZ integration vs differentiation
A. 在「雙城三環」的範疇中,為香港與深圳鞏固更緊密的社經聯繫,「北方大都會」的發展計劃包括了從洪水溪到大鵬灣的「三環」。在這些空間環中,「創新科技區」,涵蓋了新田科技園(STT),包括位於環狀道路上的香港深圳創新科技園(HKSITP),包含了以下有趣的相對:
• 鄉村與城市,
• 農業與I&T(高新科技),
• 保育與再生,
• 香港-深圳的整合與區別。
B. Under the original STT, approximately 116 hectare of existing fish ponds and agricultural land are reclaimed and removed to make way for new I&T buildings, severing ties between the San Tin villagers and the proposed Sam Po Shue Wetland Conservation Park to the North. We propose to minimize disruption to the agricultural land by lifting the new developments, “TOUCHING THE EARTH LIGHTLY”, preserving the existing rural fabric and harmonize the livelihood of new and existing villagers.
B. 在原有的新田科技園發展計畫下,新的高新科技建築群將移平現有116公頃的魚塘和農地,斷絕新田村民與北方的三寶樹濕地保護區之間的聯繫。我們建議懸空新建築群,「輕觸大地」,減少對農地的幹擾,保留現有的鄉村肌理,新舊村民的生活得以和諧共存。

1. Rural and urban harmony: 鄉村與城市的和諧:
By preserving the existing fish ponds and agricultural land, we aim to retain the existing villagers livelihood and reconnect to the future Sham Po Shue Wetland Conservation Park near the border. Simultaneously, the elevated courtyard buildings allow airflow beneath and natural light to permeate to the ponds and lands below. In harmony with the surrounding, the building shall be low-lying, and shaped similarly to the parcel of land below.
通過保留現有的魚塘和農地,我們的目標是保留村民的生活,重新連接至三寶樹濕地保護區。同時,懸高建築群利於空氣流動和自然光線滲透到地面的魚塘和土地。建築群低矮且形狀與農地塊相似,與周圍環境和諧一致。
2. Agriculture vs Innovation & Technology: 農業與創新科技:
Strategically, San Tin becomes an I&T hub, fostering synergy with their counterparts across the Shenzhen River. This starkly contrasts with the existing agricultural activities. Why not both? With our building touching the land lightly, ponds and farmlands are preserved, while 7 million sqm of I&T spaces hover above. Vertical circulation is provided for on-grade villagers to interact with the I&T habitants in the elevated buildings.
新田將成為一個高新科技樞紐,與深圳河對岸的福田產生協同效應。這與現有的農業活動形成鮮明對比。通過輕觸大地的建築群提供700萬平方米的高新科技空間,同時保留魚塘和農田。地面的村民能透過垂直交通直達高架建築群,與高新村民互動。
3. Preservation and Regenerative Village: 保育與村落再生
In contrast to the high-rise developments across the border in Futian, we opt to spread out the new buildings flat, not only to preserve the existing topographical but also to minimize effect to the bird migration flight paths. We encourage mixed functions of the buildings, creating “villages” for I&T residents intertwined with houses, greenhouses and communal facilities atop the I&T buildings. We proposed the “Farm-to-community” concept: local villagers farm at the conserved agricultural lands at ground level, connect directly with the I&T community above, creating a more sustainable and transparent food system, reduce the distance between producers and consumers, and promote the consumption of fresh, locally sourced food. This creates a self-sustaining, rural-urban integrated, and resilient "village".
與福田邊境的摩天大廈相比,新田的平地更見平坦。我們選擇將新建築群平鋪開去,不僅是為了遵從現有的地形,還為了減少影響侯鳥遷徙的飛行路徑。我們鼓勵建築物的多功能性,高新科技「村落」在屋頂上提供住宅、溫室和公共設施的。我們更提出「農田直到社區」概念:村民的農作物,直接提供予上方的高新科技社區,打造更可持續和透明的食物系統,減少生產者和消費者之間的距離。這樣創造了一個自給自足、城鄉共融的「村落」。
4. Integration and Differentiation of HK-SZ: 香港-深圳的整合與區別
As I&T parks on both sides of the Shenzhen River are earmarked for the innovation and technology industry, it is crucial to define the strengths of Shenzhen and Hong Kong's "I&T" in order to create synergy instead of competition. Hong Kong's advantages lie in easy access for traders, integration with the manufacturing ecosystem in the Greater Bay Area, and being a hub for funding and logistics. For internal circulation of clusters of I&T buildings of STT, we proposed two car-less, eco-friendly transport system: the monorail system that connect the elevated I&T buildings, and on-grade automated people movers. These internal circulation systems connect with the existing Lok Ma Chau Spur Line and the proposed Northern Link (NOL) Spur Line for cross-border transport, that would seamlessly integrate to the Shenzhen public transport system.
由於深圳河兩岸的都被規劃為創新和科技產業重地,必須清晰深圳和香港在「創新和科技」領域的不同優勢,以創造協同效應。香港的優勢在於便捷的貿易通道、與大灣區製造業生態系統的整合,以及作為資金和物流中心。為促進新田科技園的內部交通,我們提出了兩種綠色無車的交通系統:連接高架創新科技建築群的單軌系統和地面自動人行電車。這些內部交通系統與現有的落馬洲支線和提議的北部支線(NOL)跨境交通相連,能夠無縫地與深圳公共交通系統結合。
